Student Loan Debt Forgiveness

President Biden's new student loan debt forgiveness program is now active. Below is the on line link to the application. You may qualify for up to $10k (20k if you received a Pell Grant) of forgiveness, if you qualify.

To qualify, your 2020 or 2021 adjusted gross income (Line 11 on your tax return) must be less than $125k for singles ($250k marrieds) .

The application is quick to fill out. Should take you no more than 5 minutes.

We are told by Department of Education that the approval process is 4-6 weeks.

Student loan payments have been suspended through Dec 31. Any remaining unforgiven balance will be subject to repayment starting in January.
